Kideco’s Economic Development Program encompasses sectors such as plantations, agriculture, fisheries, and livestock farming. The main goal of this program is to optimize local potential and characteristics to enhance economic capacity and prepare the community for post-mining self-sufficiency. The program focuses on building networks to drive local economic growth, particularly in increasing income, job creation, skill development, group empowerment, and the establishment of new business units.

Several economic initiatives developed by Kideco include the development of tourism facilities through Sahabat Kideco Outbound Facility and Samurangau Eco Park, oil palm and rubber plantations. Additionally, there is a home industry program that involves marketing recycled products and natural honey as health products. This program also provides guidance to Women Farmers Groups for the production of light snacks.
