The Paser Mine isn't just providing high quality coal but this mining project is committed to sustainability. Started in 1993 after thorough preparation, the mine now produces nearly 40 million tons of coal annually, showcasing rapid growth from the initial 1.2 million tons in its debut year. By focusing on sustainability, Kideco has achieved remarkable success, reaching a total production volume of more than 600 million tons by 2021.
KIDECO is committed to restoring the mining environment through reclamation and water management, aiming to protect the forest and river from the impact of mining operations.
KIDECO manages an open-pit mine, coal getting by excavating the soil from the surface. The overburden removal process employs heavy equipment to striping the topsoil, transporting it to the disposal area, outside the mining pit.
Overburden Removal
Coal getting process using an excavator and then delivered from the mine to stockpile, namely Samurangau Crushing Plant (SMCP). At the stockpile, a quality management program is started to ensure the proper quality for customers.
Coal Production
The coal from stockpile undergoes the crushing process in a plant where it is crushed to a size below 50 mm. The crushing plant is equipped with magnetic detectors.
Crushing
The crushed coal is transported by coal haulers from the crushing plant to the barge loading port. KIDECO has constructed a 39 km private hauling road with strong asphalt road surface, minimum uphill and curving track. The road's stability enhances the efficiency of coal transportation compared to other companies.
Overhauling
KIDECO operates a private barge loading port known as Tanah Merah Coal Terminal (TMCT). Coal from the hauler is either stored in the TMCT stockpile and loaded into barges. The TMCT stockpile has a capacity of 700,000 tons. KIDECO operates 6 coal loaders with a barge loading capacity of up to 150,000 tons per day. The coal loading conveyors are equipped with automatic samplers and magnetic detector for rigorous quality control, assisted by three on-site independent international surveyors.
Barge Loading
The coal barge is towed to the offshore transshipment point at Adang Bay, which is 58 km away from TMCT. Transshipment is conducted either by the crane of the mother vessel, a floating crane, or a floating loading facility (FLF) with a combined loading capacity exceeding 50 million tons per year.

Annual Production
By the year 2001, KIDECO achieved an annual coal production of 10 million tons. Presently, KIDECO's annual production stands at 35.7 million tons, with a cumulative production of 600 million tons by 2021.
KIDECO is presently supplying coal to over 60 customers across 13 different countries, including Hong Kong, China, India, and Japan.
